New Zealand, 20 June 2010
Having already launched the Aprisa SR in Europe and Asia , June 2010 was the time for the New Zealand based launch. This was focused around the Electricity Engineers’ Association (EEA) conference, held in Christchurch. The Conference had strong industry support and large attendance with over 60 presentations from national and international speakers; 600 delegates, 99 trade exhibitors and many more visitors. 4RF’s Principal Engineer delivered a talk on Wireless Network Security for Smart Grid Communications which was well received by the attending delegates. In a busy month for 4RF, the inaugural 4RF partner event was also hosted in London. This was a great opportunity to spend time with European Partners, providing some training for the Aprisa SRs and sharing our experience of marketing and selling the product. Following the Partner Event, 4RF participated in the Realisation of the Future Grids Summit as the headline sponsor. This industry-wide forum opened up discussion and debate on the challenges and opportunities facing the utility industry as moves are made towards the Smart Grid age. 4RF’s CTO delivered a talk on Point-to-Multipoint wireless in smart grid communications, please email us if you would like to view this presentation.
The SMI Realisation of the Future Grid conference had probably the best agenda of any of the conferences we have participated in lately, with a very high calibre of speakers and a great range of relevant, timely topics for today’s utility companies. The delegate profile was highly focused, and we had many interesting conversations over the networking breaks and at our booth in the exhibition area.
