- Wellington Water to partner with 4RF to build a resilient communications network
4RF has been chosen to supply the radio network equipment for a major upgrade of the Wellington Water SCADA system. Competing against the world’s leading point-to-multipoint radio manufacturers, and tested in what the 4RF team has described as one of the toughest field tests they have witnessed, the 4RF Aprisa SR+ came out on top in both bench and field testing to emerge as the right choice for Wellington Water.
- Successful Deployment of WITS Protocol Using Aprisa SR Family
At Northern Ireland Water, Telemetry provides monitoring (and in some cases control) of approximately 4,500 clean and wastewater assets. Telemetry not only provides alarm annunciation, local monitoring and control but also provides regulatory and operational data. Some of the existing Telemetry outstations at these assets are more than 10 years old and have come to the end of their operational life. NI Water’s Telemetry scanning radio network utilises 4RF’s Aprisa SR radio allowing dual protocol and dual baud rate on the same physical channel, thus enabling not only the replacement of the time-worn outstations, but the deployment of WITS protocol working in parallel to the Proteus protocol used on the older outstations.
