Santos Telephone Company delivers cheaper, higher quality telephone calls

Philippines telecommunications provider Santos Telephone Company (Santelcor) needed to integrate digital E1 circuits with existing 4-Wire analogue inter-exchange trunk connections to expand its service offering.

Coverage problems included the remote terrain, stretches of water and tall palm trees obstructing the radio path. Santelcor also needed to keep its capital investment to a minimum. With the Aprisa, Santelcor was able to install four new exchanges and provide high-speed and reliable connectivity over the terrain.

We are now delivering services to provinces with populations of up to 250,000 extending over 100 kilometers. They may previously have had practically no international connectivity. Now as many of their families have sought work outside of the Philippines, communications have become important. With the installation of the Aprisa radios, our subscriber numbers will increase markedly, and we will have the ability to introduce more services.
